What is Furoya?
Furoya is a Japanese-style bath and sauna spa in New York City. Inspired by Japan’s sento and sauna culture, we offer a 90-minute experience centered around the ritual of bathing, sauna, cold plunge, and rest.
Our goal is to help you disconnect from the noise of the city and rediscover a sense of balance known in Japanese sauna culture as “totonou.”

Do I need a reservation?
Yes. Furoya is reservation-only. You can book through our website or app. Same-day reservations may be available, but evenings and weekends can fill up quickly, so we recommend booking in advance.

I've never been to a sauna before. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Our staff will walk you through how to use the facilities and explain the basics of the totonou cycle. Many of our guests are first-timers. Come in, take it at your own pace, and relax.

How long is a session?
A standard session is 90 minutes. This gives you enough time to enjoy the warm bath and complete two to three rounds of sauna, cold plunge, and rest.

What should I bring?
Please bring swimwear. Towels, amenities, and lockers are provided.
Is Furoya co-ed?
Yes. Furoya is co-ed, and swimwear is required in the bathing area.
What do I do with my phone and belongings?
Lockers are available for your personal belongings. Phones are not permitted inside the bathing area. This helps create a quiet, phone-free environment and is a core part of the Furoya experience.
Health & Safety
Can I visit if I have a health condition?
If you have heart disease, high blood pressure, are pregnant, or have been advised by a physician to avoid extreme heat or cold, please consult your doctor before visiting.
Can I visit after drinking alcohol?
No. Guests may not use the facilities after consuming alcohol, as alcohol can increase the risk of dehydration, dizziness, and heat-related illness. Please enjoy a drink after your Furoya session, not before.
